Tour - 11th of September, 2025 - Westminster Abbey & The National Portrait Gallery

I'm such a nerd. I've spent the day worshipping at the effigies and burial places of my heroines - Mary I, Elizabeth I (same tomb, Elizabeth's buried on top of Mary and her effigy is bigger haha), Margaret Beaufort, countless scientists, poets and literary icons, I can't even remember how many of the people I am so fascinated and intrigued and engrossed by that I have come within a hair's breadth of today. I got quite emotional.

It is so incredibly imposing and awe-inspiring and yet so delicate and sacred a space at the same time. I don't even have words for today - so I'll just post pictures instead. I lit candles for both mum and dad because I know that they would be right here with me, every step of the way.

Margaret Beaufort was SUCH a badass!

Mary I and Elizabeth I - breathtaking and mind-blowing and any other superlative you want to inject.

The Coronation Chair

The oldest door in Britain

There's so many millions more photos I could put in, but I'll save you all the agony and just tell you it was amazing.

Best. Day. Ever.

In the afternoon we went to the Tudor Exhibit at The National Portrait Gallery. These paintings are all contemporary, which makes them 500 years old...

Again, I could on and on, but I know these people don't mean anything to anyone except those of us who are here and they've already seen them!

What an absolutely unreal day.
