Yesterday hit me like a freight train and I did a great job - at napping most of the day...
so I didn't get much done. Did a bit of random wandering to find a phone card to get my sim fixed and just happened to find my way into a few high-end English brand names (Yardley, Elemis and The Body Shop), but didn't buy a single thing. Yay me.
Did, however, buy a lemon pancake at the most delicious, weird, out of the way little bistro - and it was amazing!
Today I had the most lovely morning, spending a couple of hours wandering around Kensington Gardens, hugging the enormous old Oak trees, mixing with the locals out walking their dogs (where are all these dogs living?? This is London for Heaven's sake!), catching up with Old Mate Peter Pan and admiring the Diana Memorial Fountain which is a gorgeous mini-garden that is amazingly peaceful given it's so open and surrounded by crowds of people.
Then I sat by Lake Serpentine and watched The Mighty Cats get into a Preliminary Final. I think I scared a swan when Blicavs kicked a goal.
Wandered around some more to fill in time before my 2.30 entry ticket to Kensington Palace. I should have booked earlier, it wasn't long enough. Also, who knew the Stuart line was such a mess?! Queen Mary died of exploding pus balls when she got small pox and her sister Anne who inherited from her had 18 children and none (NONE!!) survived, so we went Hanovarian and got the Georgians. Good grief, those poor women, Queens or not - no thank you!

Spent the evening exploring the lights and night-life of the big city. Watched Rachel Zegler do her balcony performance of "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina" which is performed live to the crowd on the street from the outside balcony of the theatre each night which was amazing. Huge, huge crowd and the whole world stopped for 6 1/2 minutes to watch. Who knew theatre still had the scope to be innovative! It was amazing - SHE is amazing. I feel so lucky to have seen that in person. Never seen theatre do that before and it was incredible to see and hear the throng of literally thousands of people just go completely silent the moment the first bar of music started.
Ticked that off the bucket list and then jumped on a bus and went round and round Piccadilly Circus with all the lights and massive billboards. It's brighter at night than it is during the day. Friday night in London goes off like a frog in a sock. Caught the tube back to the Hotel and crash landed on the bed. Need to hurry up and rest. I have a lot to do tomorrow!
MAGIC!
